The Draw

Enter free by post

You can enter by post, free of charge. A postal entry is treated exactly the same as a paid one.

What the free postal route is

Every competition that offers this route can be entered without paying. Send us a postcard with the details below and we will add your entry to the draw by hand, using the same numbered ticket pool as a paid entry.

You do not need to buy anything, now or later, and entering free of charge does not change your chance of winning.

What to put on your entry

So that we can key your entry and check you are eligible, please include:

  • The name of the competition you are entering.
  • Your full name.
  • Your home address, including your postcode.
  • Your date of birth — entries are strictly 18+, and we check every entry.
  • An email address we can reach you on. A phone number is optional.

The rules for a postal entry

  • Send your entry by ordinary First or Second Class post. We cannot accept entries by hand, by email or by telephone.
  • One entry per envelope. Several entries in a single envelope count as one entry — so if you are entering more than once, use a separate envelope each time.
  • You may enter as many times as you like by post, free of charge, within any limit published for that competition.
  • Write clearly and completely. If anything we need is missing or cannot be read, we cannot key the entry in.
  • Your entry must REACH us before the competition closes. Posting it before the closing date does not guarantee it arrives in time, and we cannot accept a late entry however it was delayed.
  • If a competition has already sold every ticket by the time your entry arrives, it cannot be included.
  • We do not send a confirmation for postal entries. Keep your own note of what you sent and when.
  • Entrants must be 18 or over and in the United Kingdom.

Where to send it

We have not published a postal address for entries yet. When it is confirmed it appears here, and on each competition’s own page.

What happens after you post it

  • A member of staff keys your entry in and it takes a ticket number from the same pool as every paid entry.
  • We run the same eligibility checks as we do at checkout: 18 or over, and not self-excluded.
  • If you win we contact you directly, exactly as we would any other entrant, and the result is published in the winners archive.

The terms that apply

The full terms and conditions for our competitions — including the closing dates, the free-entry route and how entries are validated — are being finalised with our legal advisers and will be published in full before the first draw.

Nothing on this page replaces those terms. If anything here ever conflicted with them, the published terms would apply, and we would rewrite this page so that it does not.
